SHE MOVED THROUGH THE FAIR

Alice wakes one morning to find herself in an unfamiliar world, apparently invisible to everyone around her – apart from two enigmatic figures, with differing theories as to their whereabouts. Alice must recover her memories, work out where she is now, and learn who she can trust.

She Moved Through The Fair is a psychological drama following the surreal – and sometimes sinister – misadventures of a young woman called Alice. Owen’s debut feature film was conceived while he was a student, and filmed on location in Bristol over a summer between academic years (on a student film budget).

In addition to the screenplay and directing, Owen wrote the score, including the theme song ‘The Lover I Left Behind’, which was a ‘Best Music Video/Performance’ semi-finalist at the 2022 Birmingham Film & Television Festival. The song was composed, recorded and mixed in a total of just six hours.

Owen is currently revisiting the original concept and developing it into a wider series, exploring and expanding upon the themes of the film within the same world, including the concept of and the thin boundaries between the conscious and subconscious worlds.
